An introduction to AI in cyber
Artificial intelligence (AI) is here to stay; businesses are excited about its potential and are already using it for multiple purposes, including in cyber. But it comes with a whole host of business and security risks that need to be addressed so that it can be used safely and securely. An overarching strategy is essential to ensure that AI is adopted for sound business reasons and not simply because employees, who are likely not to understand the security and data privacy implications, have latched on to the latest hyped-up technology.
This is the first in a series of AI Insights research pieces. The series, written for business and security leaders, security practitioners and data privacy experts, will delve into the emerging trends and transformative impact of AI. This initial piece highlights some key changes to the landscape since Demystifying Artificial Intelligence in Information Security was published in 2019, shows how some people have got AI completely wrong, introduces the next two pieces in the series and offers some ideas for future AI Insights research.
